Flagship Application
The Research Agent.
Your AI research partner. Psyntient's flagship application — conversational AI combined with sovereign research infrastructure, so researchers organize, analyze, and publish without ever losing control of their data.
§ 01
What it is
The Research Agent is the primary way most researchers experience Psyntient. It pairs a conversational AI with your Psyntient Node — helping you organize projects, analyze Observation Packets, explore the Noetic Archive, and develop new scientific insights.
The Agent never touches storage directly. Every deterministic operation — reading a packet, writing a note, publishing a result — is delegated through the Node, so the researcher stays the author and owner of their science.

§ 04
Anatomy
The Research Agent is composed of a conversational Noetic Interface (the front end you talk to), an action layer that executes work on your behalf, and a persistent workspace that carries your projects, methods, protocols, skills, and notes across sessions.
§ 05
The Noetic Interface
The Noetic Interface is the front end of the Research Agent — the conversational surface you interact with. Ask questions in plain language and get answers grounded in the actual archive of paired neural + phenomenological recordings, not generic training data.
The same conversational surface is also how third-party applications and other AI systems can query the Archive programmatically.
§ 06
The Cortex
The Cortex is a specialized worker sub-agent inside the Research Agent. It performs tasks delegated by the Agent — retrieving Observation Packets, running analyses, drafting publications, communicating with external services. Whenever the Cortex needs to touch storage, it does so through the Psyntient Node.
§ 07
Where it sits
The Research Agent is one of many possible applications on Psyntient OS — the one Psyntient builds itself. Any developer can build another application that speaks to the same Node and reads the same Archive.
