By Invitation and Application

Science Advisory Network.

The Science Advisory Network is a carefully assembled group of independent experts who help advance the science behind the Noetic Archive. Membership is not a formality; it is a working relationship. Members participate as independent consultants on specific research projects and initiatives, bringing their expertise to bear on the questions that most directly shape our work. We look for depth of engagement — people who have spent real time with the problems we are trying to solve, and who are willing to bring that engagement into collaborative work.

§ 01

How the Network works

Membership in the Science Advisory Network is an entry point, not a formality. Once a member joins, they choose which specific projects or teams to participate in. Some of these are ongoing research efforts, and others are smaller, time-bounded initiatives. Members opt in based on their interests, expertise, and availability.

Every project or team is led by a team leader, who is also a member of the Network. Engagement is project-by-project: members commit to the initiatives they care about and are not asked to carry the administrative weight of a traditional advisory board.

§ 02

Who we're looking for

We welcome applications from researchers, scholars, and practitioners whose work touches the questions the Archive is built to address. The Network is organized around three areas of inquiry:

  • Measurement and meaning — the neural, cognitive, and phenomenological study of conscious experience
  • Technical systems — artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural decoding, and computational methods
  • Ethics and governance — bioethics, research oversight, and responsible innovation

What matters is not where you have been, but how deeply you have engaged with the problem.

§ 03

What members do

Network members contribute to the projects they join in whatever way the work demands. That might mean methodological review on a specific study, working sessions on an active initiative, co-design of an experiment, or named involvement in published work where appropriate. The relationship is intentionally flexible: members participate as independent consultants, not employees, and commit only to the work they choose.

A current overview of the work members contribute to is maintained on the research programs page.

By Invitation

Principal Scientific Advisors

Within the Science Advisory Network, a small senior group is invited to serve as Principal Scientific Advisors. This is the highest level of engagement with Psyntient's work, extended to those whose intellectual leadership has shaped their field and whose judgment we trust to guide our own.

Principal Scientific Advisors work closely with Psyntient leadership and with each other to assess the company's scientific progress, help determine the direction of research, and decide which projects and initiatives the broader Network should pursue. Their role is strategic: they shape the agenda that the rest of the Network helps execute.

Advisors at this level remain full members of the Science Advisory Network and are welcome to participate directly in projects if they choose. In recognition of their deeper commitment, Principal Scientific Advisors are offered real equity in Psyntient.

§ 05

What members receive

The Network is designed so that contributing is genuinely worthwhile. Members receive:

  • Public acknowledgment of your contribution. Members are featured on the Psyntient website with a bio and photo, and may list their involvement with Psyntient on their CV or resume.
  • Project-based compensation. Members are engaged as independent consultants and are paid for the specific projects they work on.
  • Phantom shares. Members may receive synthetic equity that provides economic upside tied to the company's success, with buyback and sellback provisions available to either the company or the member under defined conditions.
  • Complimentary access to the Noetic Archive. Members receive complimentary access to the Archive for use in their own research. See the researcher access page for what the Archive provides.

§ 06

The member portal

A member portal is in development. Once it launches, Network members will be able to log in to browse active projects, review descriptions and team leaders, and sign up to join the teams they're most interested in. Until then, applicants are onboarded directly by the Psyntient team and matched with current projects by hand.

§ 07

Current members

Member profiles are published on a dedicated network page as advisors join and choose to appear publicly. Onboarding happens deliberately and in cohorts.
