Neural archetypes and the Noetic Taxonomy.

The Archive's unit of evidence is the Observation Packet: an immutable, time-stamped window of measurement bound to the first-person account of that same moment. Neither half counts on its own. A recording without a report says nothing about experience; a report without a recording cannot be checked against anything.

The instruments accepted are broad by design — EEG, fMRI, fNIRS, MEG, ECoG, wearable physiology, eye-tracking, motion capture, and emerging brain–computer interfaces — each paired with the structured account that turns raw signal into evidence about experience.

Publish enough Observation Packets and something appears that no single study can produce: patterns that recur across people, instruments, and labs. Those are neural archetypes. Nobody writes them down in advance. They are derived from the evidence base, then continually re-derived as it grows — which means an archetype can sharpen, split, merge, or fall away when new work contradicts it.

A new archetype is never defined from neural data alone. The pairing with a first-person report is what qualifies it.

Every so often the current map is frozen into a versioned, citable Edition with a changelog. Any claim can then be reproduced against the exact release that produced it. Visualisations and interpretive overlays are always marked as derived and never confused with the empirical core.

Past Editions are readable in the Library with any free account. The current Edition is part of the paid research account.

Publishing means depositing a project in the Repo: your paper, your data, a DOI, a citable page. It joins the Archive immediately.

Contributing to the Noetic Taxonomy is the further step of offering qualified paired data for the Architect to fold into the map. Not every project carries taxonomy-eligible data, and that is fine — the Archive holds both kinds of work. Both are free.
